The ezafe

The ezafe

In Kurmanji the adjective follows the noun and is linked to it by a suffix that changes with gender and number:

• Masculine: -ê → bajarê mezin (big city)
• Feminine: -a → pirtûka nû (new book)
• Plural: -ên → pirtûkên nû (new books)

Pirtûka nû li ser maseyê ye. — The new book is on the table.
